Bond Payment
Bonds can be paid at any immigration office in the country. Please see www.uscis.gov or www.ice.gov for a list of local offices and their hours. If the bond is paid near the place of detention, this will usually speed the detainees release.
Generally, you must have the detainees complete name, date of birth, A-number, place of detention, and the amount of the bond in order to post bond on their behalf. You must bring two forms of picture identification (i.e driver’s license, green card, U.S. Passport, military ID, etc) and a social security card in order to pay a bond. Each office has its own policy, please inquire locally before you attempt to post bond.
It is also advisable to post a bond far in advance of any scheduled court dates.
Remember, after bond is posted, the case continues and the detainee MUST appear. Failure to appear at a scheduled hearing may lead to an order of removal, denial of relief from removal and the loss of any bond monies.
